Thank you for your kind response! I appreciate you taking the time! I would like to respond back to your points.

1. I agree, the problem was with the rules. I just seemed to me that the schools rushed to get a policy in place without really considering the angles.

2. I use the case of Caster Semanya in my class all the time. Caster is a female with incredibly high testosterone levels for a female. As a result ( it is believed) that Semanya had a biochemical advantage and other athletes complained. Semanya was made to medicate herself to lower her natural levels until they were consistent with the other female athletes. Indeed , her performance did fall off. I found this deplorable. Michael Phelps is oddly built. He has many natural advantages just because of how he was born, and he is revered. When a man has a natural advantage, he is heroic, when a woman does, it is viewed as unfair. Now, I know Lia Thompson undergoes hormone therapy to increase estrogen levels, but one of her teammates stated "If an individual has gone through male puberty, they have a tremendous advantage over females who did not". I don't know it that is medically true or not, but I think we better get the answers because if not the future of women's sports could be bleak. Lia Thompson was ranked 43rd in the country when she was a male. As a female, she is #1. I think we need to be open to exploring why that is.

I am not sure I understand your point 2A. Could you elaborate?

3. LOL! So do most non trans folks!

Perhaps I am uninformed. I feel like I am not, but I also don't wish to come across that way .
