As someone who is interested in language, I am constantly amazed at the number of phrases that would have sounded like Klingon to me when I was in elementary school in the late 70s and early 80s. Just to name a few “ put away your phones”, “ google it”, and “my wifi is bad” woulda left me shaking my mullet and quaking in my GRRRAnimals. The phone was on my wall at home, google was nonexistent in any format, and I woulda thought “wifi” was someone’s pet. So, here’s one only us old folks would get , and it sounds blissfully erotic though it wasn’t- “ When you hear the BEEP, turn the knob!”
